Tape, modelleddown to the drift.
A saturation stage with the transport left in: head-gap smear, slow pitch wander, and the noise floor of the stock it was built from. Seven controls, all of them live.

Five starting points, one animation.
Switching a preset does not jump: the seven controls travel to their new positions over a second and a half — the same move the panel makes when it powers on.
Seven controls, in the order the signal meets them.
Gain is added in one place only. Drift and Warp model the transport, not the tape — which is why they sit in the middle stage and not with the noise.
Input stage
Weight and Push shape what reaches the tape model. This is the only place gain is added.
- Weight Lean → Loaded0
- Low-end bias into the saturator. Higher weight sends more sub energy through the tape stage, where it compresses first.
- Push Clean → Pinned0
- Input drive. Everything above 70 is asking the emulation to misbehave — which is usually the point.
Tape model
Intensity scales the modelled curve; Drift and Warp are the transport, not the tape.
- Intensity Transparent → Saturated0
- The master character control: how much of the modelled tape curve is applied before the mix stage.
- Drift Locked → Adrift0
- Slow pitch wander from the transport. Small amounts read as width; large amounts read as a broken machine.
- Warp Flat → Smeared0
- Head-gap phase smear. This is the one control that will make a mix sound wrong before it sounds interesting.
Output stage
Hiss is added post-curve and gated to the signal. Mix blends against a phase-aligned dry path.
- Hiss Silent → Stock0
- Noise floor of the modelled stock, gated to the signal so it does not sit under silence.
- Mix Dry → Wet0
- Dry/wet on the whole chain. Parallel by design: the dry path stays phase-aligned with the wet one.
