Live TikZ · Drafting sheet

Write it.Watch it drawn.

The listing is TikZ, and the pen draws exactly what it says. Change a number and only that shape is drawn again. Drag on the sheet to rule a line, click to swing a compass: the line is written for you.

Examples

% title: a sampler

\begin{tikzpicture}

% a circle, swung with the compass

\draw[compass] (-3,1.75) circle (1.25);

% a line, ruled: its length and angle come with it

\draw[ruler] (-4.5,-1.25) -- (-1.5,-.25);

% an ellipse, with how it is built

\draw[working] (2.25,1.75) ellipse (1.75 and .9);

% six bars from one line

\foreach \i in {0,...,5}

\draw (\i*.6+.75,-2.25) rectangle ++(.4,{.5+.3*\i});

% a curve and its control points

\draw[working] (-4.5,-3.5) .. controls (-3.5,-2) and (-2,-4.75) .. (-1,-3.25);

% a function, sampled

\draw[signal,domain=0:3.6,samples=48] plot (\x+.6,{.5*sin(\x*3 r)-3.2});

\end{tikzpicture}
